Amplified phones assist the hearing impaired and allow a user to easily and effectively communicate with whomever via a phone.  The phones provide additional volume in the headset and on some models also increase outgoing volume.  Many include increased ringing volumes and/or flashing lights to indicate an incoming phone call.
